UI Community HomeCare is seeking a Intake Coordinator Infusion to fill a full-time position at our Iowa City office.This is a Monday- Friday, day-shift position with no weekends. You can learn more about our company and other current job openings by visiting our direct website at: Homepage - UI Health Ventures (uicommunityhomecare.org) Position Summary Coordinates infusion and enteral services for patients discharged from inpatient facilities and manages therapy changes for existing patients. Communicates regularly via telephone/email/instant messaging with social workers, UICH pharmacy, nursing, inventory, and warehouse staff, and insurance companies. Ability to multitask, attention to detail, and flexibility are important qualities for a candidate in this position. Position Responsibilities
  • Coordinates care for patients admitted to the UICH service
  • Coordinates delivery method of drug with pharmacist
  • Communicate regularly with insurance companies to verify coverage and benefits as well as obtain prior authorizations as needed
  • Identifies agencies and coordinates provision of infusion and other needed nursing care with the agency
  • Provides follow-up communication with nursing agencies, including but not limited to, drug infusion, IV access, and care issues
  • Performs required documentation for initial care planning, inventory records, and verbal/ written communication with referral sources
  • Completes chart reviews (as needed) to ensure therapy meets insurance coverage criteria before accepting patients for services
  • Coordinates changes to existing patient's therapy
  • Communicates changes with patients, caregivers, UICH staff, physicians, and nursing agencies
  • Modifies delivery tickets as needed according to new orders received
Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience Requirements
  • Recent employment experience in a busy office setting, preferably healthcare-related
Desired Qualifications
  • Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Excellent telephone skills
  • Ability to multitask. Creative problem solving
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift 20lbs 2 times in a row from floor to counter
  • Ability to sit for an 8-hour shift
