Support 4 Plants and 2 Distribution Centers as well as Direct HR matters for the entire Cleaning & Food Solutions Business Unit supporting around 700 employees.

This role will lead an HR team of up to four HR team members, is based in Pacific, MO and will regularly spend time at our St. Clair, MO manufacturing plant.

Reporting to the VP of Human Resources, the HR Director will contribute to the development of and execute the corporate business and HR strategy. Focused primarily on the Cleaning and Food Solutions (CFS) strategic business unit, this position will partner with CFS leadership and VP, HR to identify HR priorities and opportunities to strengthen HR processes in these areas: Organizational and workforce planning, culture and engagement initiatives, recruiting and pipeline management, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, recognition programs, compensation, policies and procedures, compliance, training, benefits. Looks for opportunities to make processes more strategically meaningful; simplify or automate; benchmark and continuously improve. Key Responsibility:

  • Serves as the teammate to CFS leadership and HR leaders. Serve as an advocate for employees.
  • Selects, develops, evaluates and leads a team of human resource professionals with the goal of earning a high level of credibility as an effective internal consulting group. Stays close to the CFS team and proactively identifies and communicates employee/risk areas to CFS and HR leadership and recommends mitigation or response.
  • Contributes to the development and drives the execution of PLZ-wide HR initiatives and CFS HR strategies
  • Responsible for advising management to ensure company compliance with all federal, state, and local laws related to employee benefits, compensation, employment and training. Remain current with changes in human resource and employment law and manage company relationships with state and local regulatory agencies.
  • Analyze trends and HR metrics to develop and implement solutions, programs and policies necessary to drive company results.
  • Builds and enforces consistency across sites and shares best practices.
  • Develops comprehensive change management strategies to guide the function from current to future state, anticipating challenges and recommending solutions for complex problems.
  • Visit all sites on a consistent basis working closely, coaching, mentoring, and developing site HR representatives and management team.
  • Oversee handling of serious employee issues and advise leaders on action while reviewing with corporate and legal, as necessary, until resolution is reached.
  • Conduct investigations, including sexual harassment, discrimination and other employment related concerns.
  • Coordinate major changes with management, including organization design, reorganizations, HR initiatives, etc.
  • Review policies at different sites for consistency and hold meetings with management to review new policies.
  • Ensure maintenance of documentation/summaries of all employee relations issues; review performance improvement plans for employees, when appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field. Master's Degree preferred
  • 12+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Experienced with working in a manufacturing matrix environment and supporting multi-sites, multi-divisions, and shared services functions.
  • Strong HR experience in Employee Investigations, Recruitment Strategy, Increase Employee Retention
