PROJECT EXECUTIVE

The Company has expertise in a wide variety of projects including large scale complex bridges, deep foundation, marine and dam construction and rehabilitation, complex and heavy steel erection and rehabilitation and demolition services.

Summary:

The selected candidate will be responsible for contract management, change orders, preparation of subcontracts, project scheduling, keeping billing quantities/construction units, invoicing, consulting with superintendents on resource allocation and coordination, estimating, and material pricing/project buyout. Position could oversee several projects or one larger complex project. Both private and public work experience is a plus. A background in heavy civil/industrial construction is preferred but not required. Experience on bridge construction, deep foundations, and the ability to travel is preferred.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple projects or large complex projects
  • Ensure Safety Program is enforced their respective project and perform safety observations
  • Oversee the staff and assigns ownership of project specific tasks on assigned project
  • Ensure the quality of assigned project is being upheld
  • Responsible for contract administration on assigned project
  • Review productivity of assigned project with field supervision
  • Schedule and coordinate required resources for assigned project
  • Forecast and project hours and costs for assigned project
  • Monitor project cash flow and outstanding accounts receivable information
  • Assist Superintendents with project related tasks
  • Understand and communicate contract scope to Superintendent
  • Understand and communicate project documentation requirements
  • Organize and manage project meetings
  • Review and approval of field staff payroll, quantity and productivity entry
  • Develop and process billings to Owner/Engineer/Architect/Designer for payment
  • Develop and oversee prompt payment to vendors and subcontractors for materials provided or work performed
  • Recognize scope changes and communicate such to Owner/Engineer/Architect/Designer
  • Effectively communicate with vendors and subcontractors on schedule and scope of work
  • Lead Project Engineers and Field/Office engineers on their assigned project
  • Assist in improving project quality and productivity
  • Assists in identifying and promoting changes to improve productivity and quality on the project
  • Effectively communicates with Project Owner/Designer/Architect/Engineering
  • Provide proper and timely written correspondence to Owner/Designer/Architect/Engineer/Vendors/Subs
  • Maintain Disadvantage Business Enterprise (DBE) goals and good faith efforts
  • Develop RFI's, work plans and submittals for the project
  • Develop extra work or change order negotiation pricing
  • Develop time and material final pricing submittals
  • Develop purchase orders and subcontract agreements
  • CPM schedule oversight
  • Mentor new project managers in their respective roles
  • Assist with new project estimating tasks, take-off, scope reviews, subcontractor and supplier solicitation, new work pricing.
  • Works to estimate and develop new work opportunities in assigned areas to keep resources active and productive.
  • Promote Brayman policies and procedures

Other Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or equivalent experience in the construction industry
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in heavy civil construction and/or deep foundation construction
  • Experience with various types of heavy civil or foundation work including mass concrete, post-tensioning, dams, drilling, soil nails, caissons, tie backs, shotcrete, slurry walls, etc., a plus.
  • Ability to read blueprints/plans.
  • Flexibility to adapt to new challenges.
  • Minimum of one internship with a heavy civil, foundation or steel erection contractor or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office concentrations in Excel
  • Must be willing to travel or relocate as necessary for projects.

Work Environment:

  • Works both indoors and outdoors.
  • The environment can be dirty and noisy.
  • Wear appropriate protective clothing and equipment including gloves, ear protection and respirators when necessary.

Physical Demands

  • Stands frequently and walks about the work areas
  • Occasionally stretches up and across when completing daily tasks
  • Squatting, crouching or kneeling may be required occasionally
  • Twisting the body or neck may be required occasionally
  • Bendingis occasionally required to facilitate the lifting of items used daily
  • Repetitive hand and arm movements are required when operating machinery
  • The employee must be able to perform the physical demands of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

Safety Sensitive Position

This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work on project sites, including federal projects. Project sites contain various safety hazards associated with heavy construction. This position may require working at heights, in confined spaces, around heavy equipment, and under constantly changing circumstances. This position may also entail project site work at night and on weekends on an as-needed basis. This position will be subject to more stringent drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.
