The Laboratory Safety Inspector performs a wide variety of duties for UB Environment Health and Safety (EH&S). Duties will include: Conduct on-site inspections of UB laboratories. Labs may be designated as research, teaching, or both. Work as part of a 2- or 3-person inspection team. Prepare detailed written/electronic lab inspection reports using data obtained from the live inspections. Distribute reports to relevant responsible parties. Schedule follow up inspections as necessary to address deficiencies noted in previous inspection reports. Interprets and applies Federal and State rules, regulations, and guidelines as they apply to campus labs. Verify proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is being utilized during lab work where hazardous material are in use. As part of the inspection process, verify training records of lab worker are valid and up to date. Stay knowledgeable of all applicable regulations as they pertain to this position.
