Position Overview:The Soiled Side Attendant plays a key role in ensuring the efficient handling and processing of soiled linens. This position is responsible for sorting, inspecting, and preparing linens for washing, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and quality.Key Responsibilities:
- Sort and Inspect Linens: Separate linens based on fabric type, color, and level of soiling. Inspect items for damage, stains, or other issues that require special attention.
- Pre-Wash Treatment: Apply appropriate pre-wash treatments to heavily soiled or stained items as needed.
- Load and Unload Machines: Assist in loading soiled linens into washing machines and removing clean linens after washing. Ensure proper handling to prevent damage.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure work areas and equipment are kept clean, organized, and in good working order. Follow all hygiene and safety procedures.
- Monitor Workflow: Assist in ensuring a smooth flow of linens from the soiled side to the clean side of the laundry facility, adhering to production deadlines.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to ensure a safe working environment.
- Documentation and Reporting: Record linen counts and report any discrepancies or damages to the supervisor. Maintain a log of tasks completed.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in a laundry or industrial cleaning environment preferred but not required.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Good physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy items
- Ability to handle odors and able to work with soiled linen.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a fast-paced environment.
