Job Description :

MiLEND is seeking a Compliance Officer experienced in all aspects of mortgage lending and related activities. The Compliance Officer will provide specialist support/advice to company/product management/staff to facilitate appropriate and effective compliance both Federal/State for: mortgage origination/processing/closing, consumer protection; fair lending; privacy, and other applicable regulations and regulatory administrative actions. The ideal candidate will have experience with federal/state exams, working with examiners and responding to the exam findings. Working knowledge of mortgage related computer LOS, Processing and Closing programs.

Maintain a strong compliance culture/environment by:

• Advising and consulting business/product management on relevant laws, regulations, policies and procedures, including implementation of new regulatory policies and procedures.

• Optimizing the compliance control environment by assisting management in re-evaluating end-to-end compliance control processes.

• Reviewing business product programs, marketing materials and other forms of communications for regulatory compliance.

• Assisting with the content, implementation and delivery of compliance training.

• Understand and communicate all State and Federal Laws to appropriate departments. Complete understanding of all Federal and State Regulations as they apply to the mortgage industry: Dodd Frank, CFPB, HMDA, MIDA, RESPA, FCRA, ECOA, GLBA.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in a compliance specialist/control role. Compliance, legal and/or regulatory background preferred;

• Strong knowledge of mortgage lending compliance, related Federal/State laws and regulations.

• Strong risk assessment, analytical, decision making, interpersonal, presentation, and written/verbal communication skills;

• Able to work effectively with senior business management and staff.

• Goal oriented team player who treats others with dignity and respect; and

• Able to engage others in open, honest dialogue and directly addresses conflict when it arises.
