Position Opportunity The Shipping & Receiving Technician verifies accuracy of customer parts received and shipped based off packing slip and customer purchase order. The Shipping & Receiving Technician reports inconsistencies of incoming purchase orders to the appropriate departments for resolution disposition. This position prepares items for shipment in the most economical and efficient shipping method. Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Uses Performance Management System (ICMS) to receive customer parts and ship finished goods
- Verifies received and shipped parts against packing slips and purchase orders
- Unloads incoming materials using proper methods
- Visually inspects received orders for inconsistencies or damage
- Prepares data pack and transposes data into Performance Management System (ICMS)
- Prioritize and prepare shipments for commercial transportation
- Assess daily workload and develop efficient practices
- Monitor inventory and place orders as needed while replenishing production from backstock
- Maintain clean, efficient and organized throughout all areas
- Represent the department in staff meetings as needed
- Perform general maintenance of equipment in the shipping area
- Analyze and implement projects in compliance with U.S. Exports and Control Laws
- Assist other technicians and departments as needed
- Comply with all training, quality, compliance, and safety policies, practices and procedures
- All other responsibilities assigned by Lead or Manager
QualificationsEducation/Training/Certifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred Related Experience: 1-2 years of related experience preferred. Experience in order verification and packaging including boxing or palletizing then stretch wrapping preferred. Experience with UPS and or FedEx software and creating shipping documents for other carriers including LTL preferred Overtime: Willing and able to work overtime, including holidays, weekends, and on short notice call in as required. 10-20% overtime to be expected Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read and understand work instructions from Production Management System (ICMS), documents, correspondence and memos.
- Effective communication skills which include verbal and written in English
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Use Pallet Jack
- Forklift License must be maintained
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions. Should be able to compute rate, ratio, and percent
- Moderate computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Legal capacity to comply with federally mandated requirements of the U.S. Export Control Laws
