JOB SUMMARY: Execute work orders and scheduled preventive maintenance and various other duties as assigned by the maintenance supervisor. Working cooperatively with other departments, employees and the maintenance department. Economical and efficient use of facility time and supplies ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Makes repairs of all electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling, refrigeration, safety and fire equipment and other facility equipment as directed by the maintenance director.
  • Carries out preventative maintenance program by repairing and /or replacing parts according to schedules.
  • Cleans and maintains lighting, fans, heating units, etc.; Cleans ice maker.
  • Keeps maintenance areas in clean and orderly fashion, cleanup work sites at the completion of each maintenance project.
  • Keeps Maintenance director informed of problems with equipment, buildings, and grounds.
  • To assist in emergency snow removal or outside work such as operation of snow blowers, shovel snow or operate trash compactor, or other duties as deemed necessary by Maintenance Director.
  • Check pumps, motors, plumbing repairs and installation, air conditioning, refrigeration, heating systems, hot water.
  • Maintains Fire and Safety equipment and other facility equipment as directed by the Maintenance Director.
  • Hook up and adjust TV's.
  • Assumes on-call responsibilities as scheduled on weekends, holidays or emergency situations using cell phone.
  • Assists with emergencies when directed by supervisor as needed throughout the facility.
  • Participates in fire/disaster/safety program as directed by the Maintenance Director.
  • Keeps garbage compactor and loading dock areas clean and free from debris.
  • Perform test(s) of energy power equipment as directed by maintenance director.
  • Performs such other regular or special duties as may be required by the maintenance director and/or the Maintenance I person to whom assigned.
  • NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Run errands and pick up parts both inside and outside of the facility.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in all areas, conditions and environments. This includes working outside in all weather elements, working inside in large and small areas, some well lit-some not, some well ventilated- some not, working on high ladders and roofs, occasional work also on ground surfaces or in holes. QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: High school graduate or equivalent. Good attendance and a mechanical background to include knowledge of heating systems. Both hot water and low pressure steam pump motors, plumbing and electrical systems, wiring, carpentry and refrigeration. Must have good range of motion and ability to lift 80 pounds. Must be safety conscious and be able to use tools of the department, climb step and extension ladders, use two and four wheel cars and drive a pick-up truck.
