Job Description :
SUMMARY Responsible for the inventory and procurement of raw materials. Maintains current data by vendor to include pricing, lead times, technical information and quality issues. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to foster strong and healthy partnerships to benefit Three D Metals, Inc. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Maintains strong vendor relationships through open and regular communications.
  • Assists and participates in annual price negotiations
  • Prepares and analyzes forecasts.
  • Works to achieve inventory turns to predetermined rates
  • Places mill and spot buy purchase orders to meet current and anticipated inventory needs
  • Analyzes stock shortage reports
  • Prepares releases for shipments from vendors
  • Expedites purchase orders
  • Changes/updates PO's in the ERP system (monthly surcharges, pricing, etc.)
  • Prepares and sends out quotes
  • Maintains pricing spreadsheets
  • Investigates supplier quality issues
  • Prioritizes action plan for quality improvement projects.
  • Attends sales meeting.
  • Is an active participant in the Quality Management System
  • Assists in resolving invoice issues with accounting.
  • Seeks out new sources to qualify

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
