Job DetailsJob Location Western Distribution Center - Ontario, CA Position Type Full Time DescriptionJob Title: Quality Inspector- InboundPrimary Objective of Role: The inbound quality inspector role is to work with the DC receiving team to inspect incoming products based on a predetermined list provided by QA management and report any quality concerns related to product or packaging to a QA supervisor or manager. The inbound inspector will also inspect other items in the facility in response to branch requests and quality ticket investigations from corporate. Functional Areas of Responsibility:
  • Maintaining an inventory of appropriate tools, instruments, and measuring devices.
  • Working with the receiving team to keep product moving from the docks in a timely manner.
  • Keeping accurate records of container item inspections and productivity.
  • Providing branches with photos of Emser products in the DC as and when requested.
Key Objectives of Role: To identify quality concerns before product reaches customers in an effort to minimize claims against the company. To provide support and assistance to other departments regarding product specific information. Job Responsibilities:
  • Performing quality inspections on daily inbound consignments of tile & stone products.
  • Performing spot checks and inspections as requested by QA management or Supply Chain.
  • Providing range photos of products in the DC to our sales team and branches as requested.
  • Identifying quality issues and reporting them to QA supervising associates.
  • Assisting with rework projects in the warehouse when needed.
  • Providing support and partnership with the DC operations team at their respective DC.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or higher level of education (college, vocational school, etc.)
  • Basic to advanced skill level in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50lbs repeatedly without injury.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Previous experience in a warehouse environment
  • Ability to work flexible schedule, including long hours and/or overtime as needed in various conditions including hot/cold climates and inclement weather.
  • Regular and predictable attendance with no personal issues that conflict with work schedule.
  • Advanced analytical and reasoning skills
  • Strong communication skills , both written and verbal, in the English language, bilingual in Spanish is also a plus.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize daily duties and work independently to achieve daily goals without constant supervision.
