Position description Paleoethnobotany, also known as archaeobotany, is a subdiscipline of archaeology. It investigates plants-human interactions and how plants shaped cultures. It covers topics such as how people used plants in their food, crafts, clothing, medicine and rituals. This class combines methods and theory of paleoethnobotany including botany, ecology, and archaeology to investigate cultural uses of plants.
