Project Description: Every small act is a building block for meaningful change. Artists are responsible to the world to be that voice that initiates change. This work is based on another performance I created with dancers, THE GARDEN, and it will be a deeper dive and extension of it. Think of it as a poem, an inspiration, a physical manifesto, a protest, a prayer, a meditation, and a humanist evolution. Together, we will explore the concepts of societal endurance, self-organization, preservation, justice, and resistance for a better future. This research phase will culminate in an outdoor performance, a public ticketed showing.
I expect you to show up on time for rehearsals and commit to the dates. The movement will be organized around partnering, solo, and group choreographies. I will put a strong accent on percussion in this work.
