Long Island, New York In-House Counsel Position:

A Long Island based privately held retailer is searching for an experienced In-House Counsel. Job responsibilities include providing legal counsel on a variety of corporate and business issues. These include:

Drafting and/or reviewing vendor agreements and contracts;

Drafting and/or reviewing leases for properties both as landlord and as tenant;

Overseeing the company's insurance program;

Engaging and managing outside counsel;

Monitoring regulatory and other changes in the laws affecting the company's business operation to collaborate with management in developing company policies and procedures.

Education and Experience: Law degree from an accredited law school licensed to practice law in New York with at least 10 years' experience in-house or at a medium to large size law firm. Experience in-house with a retailer or with retail clients a plus.

Skills: Highly motivated, self-starter with the ability to work well with others. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Business savvy, problem solver with strong analytical and organizational skills. Must be able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Type: Full time on site 5 days a week at the company's headquarters in central Long Island, NY.

Salary and Benefits: $150,000 to $200,000, depending on experience. Benefits include 401(k) plan and health insurance.
