Major Primary Duties
  • Directly supervises 30+ employees in Warehouse operations.
  • Develops, trains, and mentors all individuals in the warehouse department.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Ensure that all warehouse activities comply with Safety regulations and industry standards to create a safe working environment.
  • Maintain adherence to local, state, and federal laws regarding labor, environmental regulation, and handling of hazardous materials.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of inventory levels using robust inventory management processes.
  • Manage stock replenishment to maintain optimal inventory levels and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
  • Minimize discrepancies through regular audits and cycle counts, investigating and resolving any variances promptly.
  • Implement and monitor inventory control procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with purchasing to notify of material shortages and adjust inventory strategies accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with carriers and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials.
  • Collaborate with our finished goods storage and distributor company to ensure seamless inventory flow and availability.
  • Oversee the receipt of incoming goods, inspect shipments for quality and accuracy, and coordinate the timely dispatch of outgoing orders.
  • Organize the warehouse layout for maximum efficiency, ensuring optimal use of space and facilitating easy access to products. Anticipate future storage and handling needs based on sales forecasts and business growth.
  • Apply Lean management principles to optimize workflows, eliminate waste, reduce costs, and increase productivity.
  • Develop and manage the warehouse budget, controlling costs related to labor, equipment, and supplies.
  • Support Month End activities and organize and lead physical inventories as needed.
  • Generate regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory turnover, inventory aging, order accuracy, cycle count inventory accuracy, labor productivity, and others to inform strategic decisions.
  • Inspect physical condition of warehouse and equipment. Coordinate with the Power Industrial Truck service company to ensure timely preventive maintenance and repairs, keeping PIT equipment in optimal working conditions.
  • Coordinate waste management with vendors to ensure proper and timely disposal of waste streams from the site, including trash, recycle, food, and other.
  • Additional tasks/projects as assigned.
Key Competencies
  • B.A./B.S./master's degree or an equivalent.
  • 8 to 10 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong work ethics with an attention to detail.
