Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Purchasing Manager at LEM Products in West Chester, Ohio. The Purchasing Manager leads the procurement and inventory management activities in collaboration with our China operation. Responsibilities include developing purchasing strategies to account for market trends and seasonal demand fluctuations, conducting comprehensive forecasting analyses for purchasing decisions and maintaining optimal stock levels, fostering and maintaining strong, positive relationships with key suppliers to secure competitive pricing and reliable delivery schedules, collaborating with US and China team to assess supply needs and drive efficient decision-making processes, partner with the sales team to align procurement activities with business objectives and sales forecast, monitor and oversee inventory level to minimize waste and ensure product availability, and lead, mentor and develop a high-performing purchasing team to achieve departmental goals.

Required Qualifications

Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience leading purchasing operations, encompassing procurement, sourcing, and inventory management. At least 3 years in a managerial role overseeing purchasing teams. Proven experience managing supply bases in the US, China, and surrounding Southeast Asian countries. Must have a background in collaborating with and supporting US retailers' businesses.

Reasoning Development: Ability to identify complex problems, analyze related information, and develop effective solutions. Proven decision-making skills to optimize purchasing strategies and resolve supply chain disruptions.

Mathematical Development: Proficient in performing calculations involving, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division across various units of measure. Capable of computing percentages, discounts, interest, markup, and selling price. Advanced proficiency in Excel, including formula creation and data analysis for purchasing forecasts and cost control.

Language Development: Ability to read and interpret work instructions, methods, and procurement procedures. Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with stakeholders. Strong writing skills for effective documentation and reporting. Chinese language proficiency is a plus but not required.

Education: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
