Implements and maintains switches, routers, gateways, hubs, wireless controllers and access points, remote access servers, basic firewall configuration, security appliances, network monitoring applications and internet or intranet devices and connections; designs, configures, monitors, and optimizes local networks and the wireless networks for optimal performance, maximum availability, internal redundancy, minimal maintenance, and reasonable cost; responsible for the design, configuration, implementation and maintenance of the local area networks, and the wireless networks for the entire system; designs, configures, maintains and manages network security features for local area networks and wireless networks; adds, deletes and modifies users as required on network devices and applications.
