Job Summary: The Filling Material Handler is responsible for handling, filling, packaging, and labeling liquid and powder-based coatings in a safe, efficient, and accurate manner. This role ensures that finished products are prepared and staged for shipping while maintaining quality and safety standards in a fast-paced chemical manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: • Operate filling, sealing, and labeling equipment to package paint and coating products into various containers (cans, drums, totes, etc.) • Ensure accurate weights, fill levels, and proper labeling according to product specifications and regulatory requirements • Perform minor machine adjustments and troubleshoot equipment issues to ensure smooth operations • Monitor batch tickets and ensure proper lot tracking of raw materials and finished products • Move raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks • Assist with inventory control, stock rotation, and maintaining an organized work area • Stage materials for production and maintain accurate records of material movements • Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling of hazardous materials and wearing required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) • Perform quality checks on packaging, labels, and fill levels to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards • Participate in safety meetings and report any safety concerns or equipment malfunctions immediately • Adhere to 5S and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area Required Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED required • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or material handling (chemical or paint industry preferred) • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one • Basic math and computer skills for inventory tracking and production documentation • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or varying shifts as needed Preferred Qualifications: • Experience handling hazardous materials (DOT, OSHA, or HAZMAT training is a plus) • Knowledge of paint manufacturing processes and equipment operation Certifications: • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one • HAZMAT, DOT, or OSHA certifications (preferred) Education: High School Certification: OSHA Certified , HAZMAT Certified , Forklift Certification
