The Minnesota Veterans Home (MVH) - Minneapolis is looking for a full-time Campus Facilities-Maintenance/Physical Plant Director. As Director, you will be responsible for the project planning, development, and implementation of major project proposals and directing those projects in the repair, remodel, and new construction activities on the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs' Minneapolis campus.
The 52+ acre Minneapolis campus consists of 15 buildings, approximately 660,000 square feet of building space, and includes maintenance for all grounds, roads, parking lots, and sidewalks in compliance with state, federal, and other regulatory agencies. The Minneapolis campus is a mix of newer buildings with an additional set of historic administrative buildings over 100 years old, which proves to be a challenge in remodels, upgrades, and repairs.
This position will also supervise the Building Maintenance, Facilities, Grounds, Transportation, Power Plant, and Housekeeping Departments to ensure and enhance the appearance, safety, and function of the campus.

This position also requires successful completion of the following:
A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check will be conducted on finalists for this position. Finalists must pass the DHS background check.
A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment.
Employment reference checks will be conducted on finalists. This may include a review of documentation related to job performance and contact with the applicant's former employer(s).
