Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Fosters our dual bottom line philosophy by leading and demonstrating a culture of safety excellence and engaging employees in behavior-based safety initiatives.
- Responsible for leading, coaching, and evaluating all shifts for the Precision Engineered Products team.
- Directly and indirectly leads the department through Supervisors across multiple shifts thereby optimizing performance.
- Monitoring business goals and metrics, executing the business plan and meeting key metrics such as safety, profitability and sales volume.
- Provides operational leadership ensuring customer expectations are met or exceeded.
- Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Develops and implements operating methods to improve quality production along with internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Develops and implements methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating and maintenance issues while improving product quality.
- Responsible for developing subordinates, increasing their overall performance and enhancing their future growth.
- Reviews production costs and product quality, and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of department.
- Reviews monthly financials, analyzes results, and develops strategies to increase profitability.
- Prepares annual operational budget, ensuring accuracy while establishing required resources and planning necessary to achieve sales and profitability targets.
- Key management representative that ensures departmental compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) and our IATF 16949 certification.
- Coordinate with other Pennex operations to develop business opportunities.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product and suggests changes in use of equipment to increase efficiency.
- Works with outside processors to manage the production and quality of those processors to meet the customer demands and requirements.
- Actively participate in safety training, insuring compliance to Pennex and OSHA regulations.
- Manages PEP Supervisors across all shifts and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, evaluation and performance of this unit.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws; these include: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment for the employees.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain or engineering or equivalent experience is required.
Experience
- 7 to 10 years of manufacturing leadership experience
- Technical/ machining background – PEP / metals fabrication experience preferred
- Thorough understanding of advanced manufacturing
- Strong analytical skills with production experience
- Experience managing multiple process streams
- Ability to work cross functionally within the organization (finance, sales, operations, leadership)
- Understand the core competencies of a fabrication environment in a Tier 1 automotive supplier
- Automotive experience is a plus
