Position Summary

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Associate's primary responsibilities include the efficient movement of goods in the warehouse, accurate inventory management and documentation. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain inventory data in the WMS ERP system.

Job Duties

Movement of Goods & Equipment Operation:

  • Manage the efficient movement of goods in the warehouse.
  • Safely operate power equipment to move, organize and palletize product in the warehouse and production areas.
  • Receive raw material and process incoming orders while ensuring accuracy and quality of goods.
  • Pick and select items from inventory based on production specifications.
  • Timely and accurate dispatch of products in the warehouse.
  • Organize and rotate products (FIFO) according to Food Safety and Quality standards.
  • Perform daily inspections and maintenance of forklifts and power equipment.
  • Work closely with facilities & maintenance department to address equipment breakdowns and issues in the warehouse.

Inventory Management:

  • Conduct regular audits, stock counts and update inventory records.
  • Accurate data-entry in WMS ERP system.
  • Document management including physical and digital records.

Quality Control, Safety & Compliance:

  • Check products for quality and compliance with standards.
  • Identify and report quality issues and concerns promptly.
  • Work safely and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Adhere to mandatory PPE requirements.
  • Report safety hazards and potential contaminations to immediate supervisor.
  • Comply with Occupational Safety & Health Administration policies and procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and applicable state and federal policies and procedures.

Other Duties as Assigned:

  • Work closely with management team on ad hoc projects in the warehouse.
  • Partner with various departments daily on warehouse and production setup.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3 years' experience working in shipping and receiving, order selecting or equivalent role.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience operating a forklift required.
  • Previous experience working in food manufacturing or food distribution considered an asset.
  • Previous experience working with an WMS ERP system or related software considered a bonus.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Working towards or completion of post-secondary education considered a bonus.
  • Forklift certification considered a bonus.
  • Intermediate proficiency of Microsoft Office suite required (MS Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook).
  • Strong technical skills and ability to learn and navigate systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic work environment.
  • High attention to detail, meticulous and ability to maintain high quality work and accuracy.
  • Nurtures a safety-first and proactive mindset.
  • Adaptable, resourceful and a willingness to learn.

Work Schedule

  • This role will be required to work both day and afternoon shifts, depending on business needs.
  • Overtime hours, statutory holidays and weekend work will be required.
  • The work schedule may be changed to 4x10 shifts to support operations.

Working Conditions

  • Long periods of standing, sitting and bending required for the role.
  • Will be exposed to a noisy and wet environment with varying temperatures.
  • Allergens present – e.g. soy, wheat, etc.
  • Required to wear PPE such as safety boots, hair nets, lab coats and more.
  • No jewelry allowed on the production floor.

Compensation range for this position in Stanwood, Washington: $22 to $27 per hour. The compensation depends on qualifications and experience.
