DescriptionWe are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Software Developmentwho will manage and coordinate the design, development, testing, and maintenance of select software and applications.In this critical leadership role, you will collaborate closely with product management, business leaders, IT colleagues, and vendors to ensure our proprietary software systems meet business needs. This position requires a strong understanding of software development lifecycle processes and infrastructure best practices, an agile mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and exceptional communication skillsThis role involves leading a team of software developers, ensuring high-quality code, meeting deadlines, and aligning technology strategies with business goals.Responsibilities & Duties
- Recruit, mentor, and manage development teams.
- Work with cross-functional teams and vendors to deliver seamless software solutions.
- Develop and execute software development strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Evaluate and implement tools, technologies, and processes to enhance productivity and quality.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources.
- Ensure timely delivery of software solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
- Oversee system architecture and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Act as a key point of contact for technical insights and progress updates.
- Establish standards for software development, testing, and deployment.
- Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
QualificationsEducation:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Development/Engineering, or a related field.
- Master's Degree a plus.
Experience:
- Proven success leading development teams with responsibilities that include multiple home-grown applications.
- Experience working with and managing offshore IT development vendors.
- Experience with integrating systems from acquisitions is a plus.
- 8-10 years of relevant IT software development leadership experience.
Skills:
- Extensive experience in software development, strong leadership skills, a solid technical background, and a proven track record of delivering complex projects.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
