Responsibilities

Job Summary

Provide education and supportive services to culturally diverse individuals, families and the community through outreach, parent education, participant skill building and engagement activities.

Essential Job Functions
  • Implement identified evidence based parenting education models with fidelity to father figures
  • Plan and implement family relationship building activities for father figure participants to increase fathering skills through engagement
  • Perform outreach and education activities within the community
  • Assist in the development and spread of outreach material to internal departments, partner agencies and virtual platforms.
  • Facilitate participant planning services to include interviewing, assessing, goal setting, and referrals
  • Identify father figure and family strengths that can be applied to overcome specific challenges
  • Demonstrate knowledge of program objectives and scope of work
  • Complete enrollment documents for each father figure referred by VCC and community partners into the program
  • Maintain ongoing contact with enrolled father figure participants to build trusting relationships, provide support, serve as a referral source and monitor progress toward identified goals
  • Maintain accurate, updated participant files including attempted and actual contacts, flex funds and document required program data and instrument as required by funders
  • Develop and maintain a network of resources and services in the community to serve and assist with client needs
  • Demonstrate familiarity with VCC programs and services
  • Work with partners to establish referral pathways, provide education as described in the program
  • Schedule educational sessions at VCC and with community partners
  • Develop and maintain a calendar of educational sessions, distribute to clients and community partners
  • Organize and present educational classes on an In-person and virtual platform
  • Follow program protocol, complete program documents, report and participate in evaluation activities
  • Follow program procedures and use work time efficiently
  • Participate in internal and other program meetings as scheduled
  • Complete all program reports as scheduled
  • Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature review, in-service meetings and workshops
  • Support the vision, mission and goals, and demonstrate a commitment to the values, of the organization
  • Perform other duties as directed
Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • One year health educate, case management or outreach experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Valid California driver's license and vehicle insurance; reliable transportation, to travel for meetings and/or to gather information for reporting purposes; minimum two years' driving experience; no more than 2 violations or a single ticket/accident value at more than 1 point on driving record
  • Availability and willingness to work evening and/or weekend hours when requested

Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Experience/familiarity with computers, Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel), business e-mail communication systems and internet search capabilities
  • Willingness to perform tasks outside the normal range of duties
  • Ability to present information effectively verbally and in writing to individuals and groups from various cultural, ethnic and educational backgrounds
  • Strong organizational, time management and interpersonal skills with ability to create a comfortable, supportive learning environment

Pay Range

  • $22.00 - $23.00 per hour
