Job Description The University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc (UTFI) invites applications and nominations to fill the position of Director of Project Management for the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Reporting to the Chief Marketing & Donor Experience Officer, the Director of Project Management is responsible for leading project management efforts for the Division of Advancement to ensure alumni engagement and fundraising goals are achieved through strategic marketing and communication. This role will serve as a bridge between the Division of Advancement's Communications and Donor Experience team and its partners, collaborating with colleagues across the division and throughout the UT Knoxville campus to ensure successful project completion, aligned with university goals and priorities. Responsibilities Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Project Management: Manage complex Advancement projects including events and fundraising campaigns, by facilitating the production of marketing and communications tactics, leading strategic collaboration, and ensuring successful project completion through daily communication, evaluation, and problem solving. Oversee division-wide project management process including forecasting and planning, as well as the development of detailed project plans. Serves as the primary manager of project management software, including daily maintenance, documentation, training, and development of features. Management and Leadership: Directs project tasks, responsibilities, timelines, and collaborative efforts to ensure successful and timely project completion. Facilitates strategic conversations and provides clear communication and documentation on project expectations. Provides advice on prioritization, helps troubleshoot potential roadblocks, and keeps projects aligned with strategic goals of the university and the division. QualificationsRequired Education and Experience The candidate who fills the Director of Project Management position is required to have:
- 5+ years of experience in project management, communications, marketing, public relations, or related fields.
- 1+ years of supervisory experience
Note - Candidates holding a graduate degree must have at least 3 years of experience. Preferred Education and Experience In addition to meeting the required qualifications, the preferred candidate will have:
- 5+ years if experience in higher education project management, management, communications, marketing, public relations, or related fields
- 1+ years of supervisory experience
- 2+ years of experience in project management software (ex; TeamWork, Asana, Trello, etc)
