To help further the mission of Harbor, we are looking for a talented Nutritionist to join our WIC Team.Position is full time (37 hours weekly), Hours Tuesday 8:45 am-7:00 pm, Wednesday 8:45am-5:00 pm or 7:45 am-4:00 pm, Thursday 8:45 am-7 pm, Friday 7:45 am-4:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am-1:00 pmCome work with a great team of dedicated nutrition professionals at one of the top-rated WIC programs in Massachusetts!Harbor Health offers an excellent, comprehensive benefits package including Health, Dental, Vision, Life, & Disability insurance, 403b Savings Plan, Generous Paid Time Off (20 Days to start!) plus 11 additional Holidays and much more!Role:The Program Nutritionist provides nutrition services to WIC applicants and participants.Responsibilities:• Provides nutrition care to high-risk women, infants and children under the supervision of the senior nutritionist, including all aspects of:Anthropometric and hematological data collectionDietary assessment, nutritional risk assessment and food package prescriptionNutrition and breastfeeding counseling and educationDocumentation and data entryReferrals to other health and social servicesFollow-up nutrition education• Participates in planning, development and evaluation of:Educational materials and group nutrition education sessionsParticipant counseling and education strategiesNutrition in-services and outreach activitiesNutrition policies Assists senior nutritionist in training paraprofessional WIC staff & conducting quality assurance activitiesCommunicates with health care community on issues pertaining to participant needs.Provides nutrition care for low-risk applicants and participants as needed.Assists in the training of WIC Program Assistants.Participates in quality assurance activities.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Public Health Nutrition, Nutrition, Nutrition Education, Master's degree preferredRegistration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, or licensure with the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Dietitians and Nutritionists preferredOne year of experience in clinical or community nutrition preferredDemonstrated leadership and decision-making capabilitiesExcellent communications skillsInterest in nutrition and maternal child healthBilingual French/Haitian Creole or Spanish highly desired.Must be able to travel and work at multiple WIC sites.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or veteran status.Hours Tuesday 8:45 am-7:00 pm, Wednesday 8:45am-5:00 pm or 7:45 am-4:00 pm, Thursday 8:45 am-7 pm, Friday 7:45 am-4:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am-1:00 pmPosition is full time (37 hours weekly)
