What You'll Do:

  • Provide essential mental health services, assessing client needs, making referrals, and coordinating care.
  • Offer resources and advocacy, guiding clients through challenges with respect and empathy.
  • Lead group activities and skill-building sessions to foster stability and engagement.
  • Document services in EPIC, ensuring compliance with Medi-Cal guidelines.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive community by facilitating social connection and crisis intervention when needed.
  • Meet monthly billing targets while maintaining high-quality service.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, or closely-related field of concentration.
  • Registration with the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences required. (Must be licensed or waivered)
  • 3 years of experience in any occupation or position providing direct client services in a mental health setting, with at least one year of experience supervising staff and program management.
  • Experience in mental health services, including psychiatric diagnostic assessment, individual and group counseling/therapy, psychosocial case management, and crisis intervention.
  • Demonstrated effective advocacy, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and diverse teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages and directs a housing facility providing psychiatric, diagnostic, assessment, and treatment planning services for individual and group therapy/counseling, psychosocial case management, and crisis intervention.
  • Supervises Case Managers, including hiring new staff, training and reviewing performance, recommending personnel actions, and training staff in mental health services, Medi-Cal charting and billing, and the San Francisco Department of Public Health Behavioral Services electronic health record system.
  • Meets with staff weekly for supervision, reviews charting on a weekly basis, and ensures timely completion of all charting and billing objectives to meet monthly billing targets.
  • Ensures Supportive Housing Case Managers provide housing referral and assistance, advocacy, emergency assistance, and care coordination to residents.
  • Develops and implements groups and activities addressing resident needs within an independent living program.
  • Ensures accurate and timely completion of statistical reports for the program location.
  • Meets weekly with the Associate Clinical Director or Director of Clinical Services and attends Program Director's business and program meetings.
  • Carries a caseload of half of a Clinical Case Manager and carries a pager or cell phone for emergency responses.
  • Acts as the contact person for Property Management Services and works in collaboration with Shelter Plus Care by attending meetings, preparing annual reports, and attending necessary meetings.
