Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support for Child with ASD)Position: Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support forChild with ASD)Location: LouthType: Long Term TemporaryHours: Morning sessions, with potential toincreaseAbout the Role:We are seekingdedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to provide 1:1 support for achild with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who will be joining our client, amainstream school, on a reduced timetable. This role is crucial in ensuring thechild's successful integration and providing the necessary support as outlinedin their Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP).Key Responsibilities:

• Provide consistent 1:1 support to a child with ASD during morning sessions.
• Assist the child in engaging with educational activities and managing transitions.
• Monitor and support the child's safety, ensuring they do not access unsafe areas or items.
• Help the child with self-care tasks
• Implement strategies to manage the child's impulsive behaviours and sensory needs.
• Work closely with the school's SENCO and other staff to create a supportive learning environment.

Requirements:

• Experience working with children with ASD or similar needs.
• Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviours in a calm and effective manner.
• Commitment to providing consistent and reliable support.
• Relevant qualifications in education or childcare, or referenceable experience within the last two years.
