The Role

As our 2nd Line IT Support Technician, you’ll maintain and administer the company’s computer desktop environment and providing effective support to all computer users within the global Graham and Brown business. You’ll also manage the communications network, including both fixed and mobile communications for voice and data across our global operations. This position offers excellent opportunities to gain experience in cybersecurity, learn from our industry-leading implementations and develop skills in cutting-edge technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Desktop & Hardware Support: Install and configure desktop computers, laptops, printers, telephony systems and peripherals, providing support and resolution in a timely manner via our helpdesk ticket system.
  • Asset Management: Maintain the company’s hardware and software asset register.
  • Infrastructure Support: Support and optimise both physical and virtual infrastructures.
  • Procurement & Equipment: Manage purchase orders, procure new equipment, and ensure the appropriate technology is in place.
  • User Inductions: Conduct new user inductions and manage the initial implementation of equipment.

What We’re Looking For

  • 12 months experience in a similar role
  • Proficiency in O365 and Azure implementation, administration, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco/networking principles and protocols.
  • Advanced skills in Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, and GPO management.
  • Experience with hardware and software installations, upgrades, and system administration, including virtualisation technologies.
  • Familiarity with antivirus protection, zero-trust cybersecurity technologies, and general cybersecurity principles.
  • Problem-Solving & Communication: Ability to resolve complex issues efficiently and communicate solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to assist team members and adapt to new technologies as they are introduced, as well as providing out-of-hours support on a rota basis to handle urgent issues or critical projects.
