3rd Line Engineer

Join a premier Managed Service Provider (MSP) at the forefront of delivering tailored IT solutions for businesses in the science sector, specializing in life science companies deeply engaged in modern technology. They have multiple sites around the UK and due to growth, they are looking to start an addtional site in Newcasle office, their North office HQ!

This is an opportunity for someone with hands on experience and a future to progress and lead a team in the near future. They are actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced 3rd Line Engineer with occasional field visits. As a key member of our technical unit, you will serve as the primary technical lead for client networks, servers, the M365 stack, and third-party services.

Skills:

• Understanding of network connectivity principles, encompassing TCP/IP, VLANs, switches, routers, and firewall security.
• Familiarity with routing protocols such as MPLS, BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF, coupled with the ability to troubleshoot Layer 3 issues.
• Proficiency in VMware vSphere 4/5 & Hyper-V. • Competence in backup management, from installation to monitoring and issue resolution.
• Expertise in Windows Server OS (2012, 2016, 2019), Microsoft Exchange, SQL, and Active Directory.
• Knowledge of Microsoft solutions, including Microsoft 365, Azure and SharePoint.
• Good supporting knowledge with Data Centre Environment, on Prem environemnts and Azure environments.
• Travelling to customer sites throughout the UK maybe required. (Driving license required)

Travelling around Newcastle, Gateshead, Longbenton, Hebburn and Whickham areas.
