A leading financial services provider based in Reading is looking for a 3rd Line Engineer to grow its growing team to assist in managing and maintaining IT systems, applications, hardware, backups and much more!
This position provides a brilliant opportunity to work across technical support (1st - 3rd line), project planning & delivery, system upgrades, server infrastructure, and cloud services.
Role Responsibilities
- Provide users with technical support for hardware and software issues.
- Collaborate with suppliers and external developers to identify and resolve issues.
- Manage user identities and ensure appropriate access controls.
- Facilitate training on both new and existing systems to enhance user proficiency.
- Monitor security and usability concerns, taking appropriate action as needed.
- Maintain both on-premises and cloud-based server environments.
- Oversee the creation and verification of system backups to ensure data integrity.
- Partner with staff on various projects, including the implementation of new software solutions.
- Offer advice and problem-solving support regarding the use of technology across the organization.
Required Skills
- Active Directory / Azure AD administration.
- Management and administration of Hyper-V or VMware virtual environments.
- Management and administration of Windows Servers
- Experienced in Microsoft Azure services, Azure Virtual Desktop or virtual machines
- Experienced in deployment using Intune and Autopilot or similar MDM tools like JAMF or ManageEngine
- Experience working with backup tools like Veeam, BackupExec, Acronis or something similar
- Experienced in administering Microsoft Exchange (hybrid environment)
- Experience administering SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive
- Fundamental knowledge and experience supporting & resolving networking issues
- Strong technical aptitude with a passion for technology.
- Excellent communication skills, especially in conveying technical information clearly.
