Join SPS as an Account Director, where you'll lead the Suffolk business to deliver excellence and build strong, strategic client relationships. You'll provide visionary leadership, drive operational and commercial success, and ensure effective contract management and KPI performance.

In this pivotal role, you’ll collaborate with fellow Directors and the leadership team to achieve both immediate and long-term objectives. During the early stages, you’ll play a fundamental role in initiating and establishing the substantive contract with our client, setting the foundation for a successful partnership.

Initially, this role will involve leading a small-scale operation, managing a modest fleet of buses. However, the business is poised for rapid growth, with significant expansion in both fleet size and workforce expected over time.

Duties to include:

  • To support the directors to drive the strategic direction of the business, ensuring the management and leadership teams are on track to deliver the business objectives.
  • Manage budgets and cost in line with contractual obligations.
  • Ensure department Heads and Managers are aware of their budgets and are reviewed regularly to avoid overspends.
  • Oversee the financial health of the organisation, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Make informed financial decisions to ensure profitability and long-term financial sustainability.
  • Implement cost-effective measures while maintaining a focus on quality and performance.
  • Lead a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to key team members.
  • Leading and supporting a team on the ground, whilst thinking strategically to ensure the wider team are focused on excellence and planning ahead
  • Working closely with the wider business to ensure recruitment targets are met, ensuring we recruit for personality and with our Values at the heart of all decisions.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including client, customers, partners, parent company and regulatory bodies.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and in the media.
  • Leading and role modelling all Health, Safety, Security, HR and Environmental policies and procedures at all times.

Role requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar senior leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategic and tactical plans that drive business growth.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and financial performance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • A track record of effective team leadership and talent development.
  • The ability to operate in the detail and strategically simultaneously is key
  • At least 3 years in a senior leadership role with transferable skills
  • Strong financial and contract understanding
  • A Transport Manager CPC qualification is desirable though not essential as this can provided.

This standard is designed to provide a level of assurance as to the honesty, integrity and values of individuals who are required to work at a Nuclear Licenced Site, or who may have access to sensitive nuclear information.
