Accountant - 12 Month FTC - Butler Rose : Job Details

Butler Rose is pleased to be supporting our wonderful Milton Keynes based client with the recruitment of an experienced Accountant on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is designed to cover day-to-day finance operations while the current Finance Manager focuses on key project work. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth running of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Preparing journals and general ledger entries
• Supporting month-end and year-end processes
• Handling the trial balance and ensuring accuracy across financial reports
• Assisting with VAT returns and other compliance matters as needed

Key Requirements:

• Strong accounting experience, preferably in a similar environment
• Ability to manage routine finance tasks efficiently
• Experience with month-end processes, AP/AR, and general ledger work
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• A team player, able to collaborate with various departments

This role does not require previous experience managing a team, but the successful candidate must be able to independently manage day-to-day financial operations.
