Accountant - Cathedral Appointments Ltd : Job Details

Join our clients dedicated finance team in a dynamic role that is central to their operations. They are a well-established, family-owned group operating in a complex, multinational financial environment. We are seeking an experienced Accountant, who will report directly to the Financial Controller.

This role is on-site in the Honiton office. Operating Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, offering ½ hours flexibility to start and finish times.

Responsibilities for the Accountant:

• Manage all financial transactions, ensuring timely and accurate accounting, including month-end and year-end processes
• Prepare monthly management accounts and reports, tracking financial performance and key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Develop and maintain rolling cashflow forecasts
• Handle quarterly VAT returns, multi-currency payments, and bank reconciliations

Requirements of the Accountant:

• ACCA/CIMA qualification or working towards it, or AAT qualified, with experience in a finance role, preferably in manufacturing or engineering
• Proficient in Excel, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvements
• Strong communication skills for dealing with customers, suppliers, and auditors
• Experience in managing sales and purchase ledgers, performing intercompany and balance sheet reconciliations, and overseeing payroll
