Job Description :

MacKenzie King are once again working with an internationally recognised business in Ipswich supporting millions of clients across the world. This Accounting Assistant position will work to support the wider finance function, maintaining the general ledger, posting journals, and reconciling accounts. The Accounting Assistant will be a key member of the team building effective relationships by answering queries, providing supporting documents and making sure that the general ledger is accurate and up to date. Key Responsibilities

  • Accurate and timely settlement of technical payments
  • Maintenance and control of the general ledgers
  • Responsible for general ledger postings and for the production of trial balances
  • Ensure general ledger is reconciled on quarterly basis and can be supported by third party evidence
  • The production of account reconciliations and confirmations to the local finance teams
  • Document and maintain standardised departmental processes and procedures
  • Assist the local team with audit queries and supporting documents/files
  • Key day-to day contact for local team on queries and servicing requirements
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with key business contacts
  • Assist with ad-hoc reporting requests and queries and finance projects as required

Essential Experience

  • Good accounting knowledge / experience in Finance area
  • Sound knowledge of relevant IT software packages, including MS Excel/Word to intermediate level
  • Working knowledge of general ledger system
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good organisation skills, pays attention to detail, and delivers accurate and quality work
  • Able to prioritise workload to ensure deadlines are met
  • Ability to resolve problems efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to work well within a team and on own initiative

Salary : 27000 - 32000
