Accounting Assistant

Location: Northampton

Salary: £25,000 plus study support

Our client is a growing top 40 accountancy practice and have several offices across England. To support the organisation’s growth our client is looking for an Accounting Assistant to join our Northampton Outsourcing team. We would like to hear from you if you have a minimum of 1-2 years’ UK experience in an Accountancy practice. Ideally you will be AAT qualified, with the intention of working towards becoming ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified. Any experience with UK GAAP, IFRS, Sage, CCH would be advantageous. This position also includes a comprehensive induction and full funding to pursue professional qualifications. Salary: £25,000 plus study support.

Accounting Assistant - your key responsibilities will include:

• Building productive working relationships with clients as required
• Developing and applying your technical knowledge through on the job training and formal qualifications
• Using accounting software to provide accurate reporting for Managers, Partners and clients
• Producing simple sets of reconciled management information for clients inclusive of profit and loss account and balance sheet
• Preparing basic tax computations and returns e.g. corporation tax
• Preparing monthly and quarterly VAT returns for sole traders, limited companies and partnerships
• Preparing working papers including bank reconciliations, VAT reconciliations and other control account reconciliations
• Helping to prepare statutory accounts and finalise accounts under the overall supervision of your Manager
