Accounts Administrator
Location: Eye, SuffolkJob Type: Permanent, Hybrid (flexible work from home/office-based system) Ideally Tues and Thurs in the office. Salary: £25,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications
We are looking for an Accounts Administrator to join a small team at a successful business in Eye, Suffolk. This role involves supporting the financial and administrative operations within the organisation. The successful candidate will work closely with the Management Accountant and Senior Consultants to ensure effective credit control and financial data production, alongside a range of administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilise the online management system (Focal Point) to set up new suppliers.
- Process timesheets and expenses for zero-hours staff and contractors.
- Handle credit card expenses and client statements.
- Manage credit control tasks, including posting receipts to the accounts system and chasing overdue debts.
- Oversee client account payments and send out payment requests for client account funds.
- Conduct bank receipt postings and review WIP figures at month-end.
- Raise POs for purchase invoices and manage general office tasks such as ordering stationery/equipment.
- Assist Senior Consultants with evidence review, cooperation payment calculation, and general administration.
- Organise team events and manage meeting agendas, including taking minutes.
- Liaise with external colleagues and build relationships as required.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality with all information handled.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in an accounts department dealing with purchase ledger, sales ledger, and credit control.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with employees, clients, and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organisational and data management skills.
- AAT Level 2 OR qualified by experience / Similar
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong IT skills and the ability to prioritise and adapt to changing workloads.
- Administrative skills are essential.
Desirable:
- Knowledge and/or experience of using Focal Point software.
