Accounts Assistant

We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join a successful family-run company based in Altrincham. This full-time, office-based role offers a competitive salary and a range of benefits. The successful candidate will support the Finance Director with various business accounting activities, ensuring the smooth operation of the finance department.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Raising, sending, and paying invoices, as well as chasing late payments.
- Reconciling company accounts and ensuring financial records are accurate.
- Processing purchase orders and supporting invoice approval.
- Assisting with accounts and general administrative tasks.
- Documenting and maintaining the business’s finance procedures and implementing updates as necessary.
- Maintaining the company purchase and sales ledgers.
- Performing bank reconciliations and cash book maintenance.
- Liaising with third-party providers, clients, and suppliers.
- Conducting basic level administration and filing.
- Updating and maintaining procedural documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accounts or credit control team.
- Accomplished familiarity with Microsoft Windows Office software, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- High levels of accuracy and analytical skills.
- Mature and effective communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and exacting standards.
