Accounts Assistant

Crawley

Up to £30,000

Contract - Until Jan 2025

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of financial records, including sales and purchase ledgers.
  • Process supplier invoices, match them to purchase orders, and prepare payment runs.
  • Raise sales invoices and assist with credit control duties by chasing outstanding payments.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Assist with VAT returns, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Support the month-end closing process by preparing journals and reconciling accounts.
  • Respond to finance-related queries from suppliers and customers.
  • Assist the finance team with ad hoc administrative and financial tasks as required.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role.
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, SAP) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • AAT qualification or currently studying towards (desirable but not essential).

Salary : 25000 - 30000
