Job Title: Trainee Accountant (AAT Study Support)

Location: Camberley, Surrey

TPF Recruitment are delighted to be working with a highly reputable and growing accountancy practice in Camberley to recruit a Trainee Accountant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring accountant who is keen to study towards their AAT qualification whilst gaining valuable hands-on experience in a varied, dynamic role within a supportive environment.

About the Role:

As a Trainee Accountant, you will work closely with senior members of the team and assist in a range of client-facing accounting tasks. This will include preparation of financial statements, management accounts, VAT returns, and tax returns, with the opportunity to get involved in audits as well. Your role will be varied and no two days will be the same. Along with your practical experience, you will be supported with full study support for your AAT qualification, allowing you to develop your technical knowledge and career prospects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing financial statements for clients across various industries
• Assisting in the preparation of management accounts
• Preparing VAT returns and helping with tax compliance
• Assisting with audits and other assurance work
• Liaising with clients to resolve queries and provide support
• Ad-hoc accounting and administration tasks as required

The Ideal Candidate:

• A strong interest in pursuing a career in accountancy
• Some prior experience or education in accounting (AAT Level 2 or equivalent is desirable but not essential)
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues
• Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
• A keen eye for detail and accuracy
• Motivated, proactive, and a team player
• Enthusiasm to study towards your AAT qualification
