Job Description :

As an Accounts Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the company. This includes managing accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial statements, handling budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organised, and have strong leadership abilities.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day accounts function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with UK accounting standards.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and other external parties as needed.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and reports for senior leadership.
  • Monitor cash flow, and manage company budgets and forecasts.
  • Ensure the timely processing of invoices and payments, and resolve any financial discrepancies.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounts staff, providing training and support as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements, including VAT returns and payroll.
  • Develop and implement improvements to streamline financial processes.

Profile

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience as an Accounts Manager or in a similar senior finance role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or similar).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teams at all levels.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of VAT and payroll processing.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
