Accounts Payable Assistant

My client who are based in Ascot are seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the accounting manager will a variety of financial functions, ensuring all company processes and standards are followed. Previous experience within a financial role is required.

Role Responsibilities

Maintenance of the purchase ledger; process all supplier Invoices and employee expenses accurately onto the accounting system on a daily basis and ensuring authorised as per authorisation chart

Raising Vendor Purchase Orders

Assist with preparation of mid-month and month-end supplier payment runs for authorisation

Accurate posting of bank transactions into Accounting Package on a daily basis ensuring posted in a timely manner and complete monthly bank reconciliations meeting the month end reporting deadline

Maintain the Fixed Assets Register, posting the depreciation journal and carrying out the monthly reconciliation. Completing an annual internal audit of the Fixed Asset Register.

Assist the Accounting Manager with Month End accounting requirements, accurate posting of accounting journals onto Accounting Package and completion of monthly reconciliations.

Assist the Accounting Manager with Year End accounting activities

Assist with Annual archiving and follow GDPR regulations and guidelines.

Providing coverage for the Accounts Receivable & Order Processor daily duties as and when required.

Ad hoc support to the Accounting Manager in their daily duties as and when required

To undertake any other duties reasonable to the job level as deemed appropriate by the Company

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Good basic understanding, working knowledge and experience of working in a finance department or studying/studied towards a finance qualification.

Proactive, analytical with excellent organisational and time management skills

Strong communication skills both verbal and written and numeracy skills, IT Literate, with an excellent understanding of Excel and a good understanding Word.

Proactive with a positive attitude and a strong team player with good interpersonal skills.

Good customer service skills, with the ability to work well with suppliers, customers and other team members

High attention to detail and level of accuracy with an ability to perform well under pressure

Logical and organised, excellent at multi-tasking, able to plan and structure their day to achieve KPIs.
