Accounts Payable Clerk - MRK Associates : Job Details

Our prestigious client seeks an ambitious individual to join them as an Accounts Payable Clerk on a permanent basis, based 5 days per week in their offices in London, near Covent Garden.

This job would suit someone who is an early stage studier, to be responsible for playing a crucial role in providing support to the finance team.

Our c.£5 mil T/O client is a specialist agency recruiting and managing top talent within the fashion industry.

The successful individual will have basic understanding of financial principles. Good organisational skills and attention to detail is key for this role. They must have strong English communication skills, both written and verbal. High standard of MS Office skills, especially Excel is required. Proficiency in finance software is desired, ideally Sage Line 50.

Job responsibilities:

• Receive, review, and process supplier and vendor invoices (c.400 per month) in the accounting system, ensuring proper coding and approval.
• Match purchase orders, receiving reports, and invoices to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies with vendors or internal departments.
• Perform regular account reconciliations, including reviewing statements and resolving any outstanding balances or discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions, including invoices, receipts, and payment documentation.
• Address and resolve vendor or internal inquiries regarding payment status, discrepancies, or invoice issues in a timely manner.
• Ensure all payment processes and transactions adhere to company policies, internal controls, and relevant regulations.
• Support the month-end closing process by ensuring all accounts payable activities are up to date and reconciled.
