Job Description :

The client are looking for a junior candidate to join the team as an Accounts Payable Clerk to help manage the purchase ledger function, alongside the AP Manager. The head office is based in the West End (Mayfair) and the company are a global FMCG business and are keen on getting a candidate that is looking to grow and progress as an accountant.

Client Details

The client are a global player in the FMCG sector and they are looking for a junior candidate to join as an Accounts Payable Clerk. The full finance team is made up of 6 people, and the successful candidate will report into the AP Manager and the Finance Manager. The team is looking to grow to approximately 10 people in the next few months, and there are a wealth of growth opportunities across the team and the business.

Description

The successful Accounts Payable Clerk will:

  • Processing of the purchase ledger invoices
  • Prepare and manage the weekly payment run for the relevant entities
  • Approve invoices in the system as finance approver after business have uploaded it in the system and ensure invoices are posted in the system as part of month-end close
  • Prepare monthly ageing of supplier balances
  • Manage the credit card statements and ensure that the transactions are processed in the system and statements are reconciled monthly
  • Ensure that unapproved and unprocessed supplier invoices are accrued for at each month end
  • Assist the AP Manager with P2P related external audit requests
  • Ad hoc projects to improve AP processes, policies and systems

Profile

A successful Accounts Payable Clerk should have:

  • MUST have 1-2 years of experience in Accounts Payable
  • MUST have prior work experience within an FMCG or retail company
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
  • Actively studying towards the ACCA, CIMA or AAT qualification
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Job Offer

  • £30,000 - £35,000
