The Role:As an Accounts Senior, you will be responsible for managing client accounts, ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards, and delivering exceptional client service. You will also play a key role in mentoring junior staff and supporting the overall growth of the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a portfolio of clients, including limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
- Preparing year-end accounts and financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Reviewing accounts prepared by junior staff and providing feedback and guidance.
- Preparing corporate tax computations and assisting with tax planning.
- Overseeing VAT returns, bookkeeping, and management accounts for clients.
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for queries.
- Liaising with clients on financial and tax-related matters, providing advisory services where needed.
- Assisting in the training and development of junior team members.
- Ensuring compliance with deadlines and regulations, managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks to maintain accurate records and streamline processes.
Requirements:
- ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with at least 3-5 years of experience in an accountancy practice.
- Strong experience in preparing and reviewing accounts and financial statements.
- In-depth knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and tax compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and a varied workload.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, and Excel.
- Experience in supervising and mentoring junior staff is highly desirable.
- A proactive and detail-oriented approach to work, with the ability to problem-solve and manage client relationships effectively.
