Actuarial Analyst Location: London Office, HybridSalary Expectations: £40,000 - £55,000 dependent on experienceAbout the Role:Our client, a leading company in the specialty insurance sector, is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join their Pricing team.This is a fantastic opportunity to work on complex pricing projects across multiple business lines, contributing to profitable growth strategies and collaborating closely with underwriters. This position offers exposure to advanced pricing practices and the chance to make a direct impact within a global insurance environment.Key Responsibilities:Pricing Analysis & Model Development: Conduct detailed pricing analysis for complex contracts, working directly with underwriters. Communicate actuarial models and results effectively to support strategic decision-making. Model Updating & Enhancement: Regularly update pricing models through parameter and structural adjustments and assist in developing models for new business areas as required. Portfolio Analysis: Apply actuarial pricing techniques to analyse individual accounts and portfolios, preparing presentations and quantitative insights for underwriters and management. Business Planning & Strategy Support: Support the business planning process by working alongside the Pricing Actuary and underwriting teams to contribute to strategic planning and communicate underlying rationale. Market & Risk Analysis: Collaborate with underwriters to evaluate growth opportunities by comparing the current portfolio against market data. Quality Assurance: Conduct risk audits to ensure pricing models are applied appropriately, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.Qualifications & Skills:Professional Credentials: Progress toward accreditation with the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (Student level) or equivalent, through experience or qualifications. Industry Experience: Relevant experience in a UK/European wholesale or specialty insurance environment, with exposure to specialty line pricing preferred. Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Excel, SQL, and ideally experience with programming languages like R or Python.
