Job Title: Adult Assessment Social Worker
Location: Lancashire County Council (Various locations across Lancashire)
Salary: Up to £35 per hour (dependent on experience)

About the Role:
Lancashire County Council is seeking experienced and highly motivated Adult Assessment Social Workers to join our dynamic and supportive teams. We are looking for individuals with a passion for making a real difference to the lives of vulnerable adults.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a professional social work service demonstrating a thorough knowledge and application of statutory social care responsibilities and duties as outlined in national legislation and guidance (Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, etc.) and in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
- Contribute to service delivery that is strengths-based and outcome-focussed with an emphasis on promoting independence, enabling recovery and safeguarding adults.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies (health, housing, voluntary sector) to address complex needs and achieve the most ideal outcomes for individuals and their carers that supports their choice and independence.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop person-centred support plans in consultation with the individual and their carers.
- Complete high-quality written reports and effectively present information in a range of formats (case conferences, court reports, etc.).
- Work collaboratively with health colleagues to ensure safe and timely discharges from hospital to the most appropriate service and setting for the individual that actively supports their choice and independence.
- Promote the creative and flexible use of personal budgets to appropriately meet the needs of those we support and their carers.
- Communicate effectively with people, carers, other agencies and professionals to support the delivery of a co-ordinated response to needs.
- Manage and effectively prioritise a caseload, ensuring timely interventions and appropriate risk management.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in relation to the contact and work undertaken, using electronic record systems (Liquid Logic) and other relevant ICT systems.
- Participate in supervision, team meetings, and professional development activities.
- Promote and uphold the values of Lancashire County Council, ensuring equality and diversity are considered in all aspects of work.
Essential Criteria:
- Qualified Social Worker with a recognised professional qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, Social Work Degree) and current registration with the Social Work England.
- Significant post-qualifying experience in adult social care, including experience of undertaking comprehensive assessments and developing support plans.
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, guidance, and best practice frameworks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish effective working relationships with individuals, carers, and other professionals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risk and make sound professional judgements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in using electronic case recording systems (experience with Liquid Logic desirable).
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle for business purposes.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience of working with specific client groups (e.g., people with learning disabilities, mental health needs, physical disabilities).
- Experience of working with personal budgets and direct payments.
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding adults procedures.
