Adults Social Worker - Learning Disability & Autism

We are seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join our innovative team, providing enhanced social care support for individuals with learning disabilities and autism. This role is an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable adults, promoting independence and a strengths-based approach to care.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Work alongside adults with a complex range of needs related to learning disability, autism, mental or physical health.
- Undertake Care Act reviews focusing on developing independence and progression.
- Collaborate with family members, advocates, and care providers to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Partner with internal teams such as Procurement and Commissioning, Essex Legal Services, and external partners including health services and the Court of Protection.
- Champion technology-enabled care (TEC) to improve adults’ independence.
- Travel countywide and work from various ECC and health buildings as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified social worker with current Social Work England registration.
- At least 1 year’s post-qualifying social work experience.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and related procedures.
- Confident in person-centred and positive risk-taking approaches.
- Ability to make clear decisions and manage potential risks.
- Driving licence and car, or ability to meet mobility requirements of the role through other means.
