Eta Projects Ltd is seeking an AE Ventilation to serve as the Trust Subject Matter Expert in all ventilation-related matters. This role involves providing guidance on ventilation issues, primarily within the healthcare sector, and conducting audits for the Designated Person in accordance with HTM 03-01. Additionally, the AE Ventilation will offer guidance and comments on other relevant statutory and regulatory requirements

The successful candidates will need to be capable of performing in a Client facing role, collaborating with Client representatives and other design team members and also working collaboratively with a team which would comprise mechanical, electrical, public health and sustainability (thermal modelling) on a project-by-project basis.
Main Responsibilities - Develop Eta Projects Ltd AE Ventilation procedures, policy and contribute to Operation Management Issues.
- Develop Eta Projects Ltd document structure and document library
- To implement, administer, monitor and audit SSoW within healthcare, commercial, Ministry of Defence and industrial environments, also reporting on compliance with Statutory and Company procedures.
- Identify, develop, assess and recommend for appointment, suitable candidates for Appointment as Authorised Persons.
- Provide timely and accurate input to incident investigations and resolve technical operational issues.
- Process findings of Technical Compliance Audits and assist with the closure of non-conformances.
- To manage and offer guidance pertaining to relevant Safety Alerts.
- Maintain a register of all Authorised Persons including their training records and areas of responsibility.
- Issue audit findings via a technical audit report to Designated Person/Principal Engineer agreeing a suitable site AP Action Plan.
- Report to the Designated Person any deficiency in the number of trained and competent APs which may impair the provision of the necessary cover.
- Define in writing the exact extent of the systems and installations for which an AP is responsible, keeping appropriate records.
- Ensure that all points of demarcation and operational interface with other Authorities are clearly identified and recorded.
- Regularly review the competence, performance, and documentation of each AP.
- Recommend / verify relevant AP technical and procedural training in accordance with the AEs assessment.
- Client facing
- Inputting into practice improvements in work methods and delivery.
- Collaborating with Associate Directors and Directors in identifying and implementing new work practices and innovation.
- Performing site surveys on behalf of clients as required before recommending appropriate control measures or remedial works via written reports.
- Providing Authorised Person services for clients upon request.
- Mentor and Develop staff
Person Specification - Practical and relevant technical engineering experience of working within healthcare, commercial, Ministry of Defence and industrial environments
- Has recognised health & safety qualifications and is registered with an appropriate professional body - IIRSM, IOSH or equivalent.
- Detailed knowledge and Understanding of the HTM’s
- Recent experience working as an Authorising Engineer or is working towards AE Status with significant experience as AP Ventilation working across different areas and with AE Ventilation.
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of the statutory and HSE (and industry best practice) guidance documents relating to Ventilation within the Healthcare Industry
- Experience in working within a structured safe system at work
- Must be able to demonstrate a good understanding of general UK Health and Safety Legislation and an ability to carry out risk assessments and propose actions for risk control/management
- Full UK driving licence
- Willing to Travel
