We partner with Arup to support contingent recruitment processes. On behalf of Arup, we are looking for an Agile Delivery Manager for an initial 6-month contract on a remote-first basis with rare travel to London.

About the Opportunity:

The Agile Delivery Manager will work in the Data programme delivering change using Agile methods ranging from expansion and scaling of a data lake built on Data Bricks as well as a range of platform refresh for business intelligence capabilities to an agreed timeline and budget. The role enables the development of scope and solution design between the Product Owner, Architect and Business Analyst, working to remove any impediments that are obstructing the team from achieving their delivery.

The Agile Delivery Manager will also work with Product Owners to improve delivery of built products, maximising RoI and driving the build team to be productive whilst promoting their successes. This in turn enables them to deliver clear and articulate project tracking and reporting.

In this role you will:

  • Provide agile project delivery to ensure value from product development, focusing on aspects such as Service Transition, Financial Monitoring and Control, Dependency Management, Resourcing, Dependencies and Value tracking.
  • Maintain product delivery momentum by knowing how to optimise the delivery flow of teams.
  • Support internal customer projects that require technical products by managing the interfaces between the project and the customers.
  • Adopt Arup's project management approach, ensuring Arup standard project monitoring and controls approaches are used to reflect the latest status whilst working closely with dedicated Business Change function for product enablement and adoption.
  • Apply experience of multiple parts of the product life cycle, recognise when it is right to move forward and when it is right to stop.
  • Recognise the appropriate deliverables and the right people to meet these.
  • Work alongside other agile delivery operations throughout the product life cycle.
  • Plan and engage appropriate stakeholders at a particular stages in the project.
  • Partner with Scrum Masters who lead the project scrum process as part of agile delivery management.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Good knowledge of agile methodologies, their ethics, and principles and how these relate to agile delivery management.
  • Experience of agile delivery management partnering with Scrum Masters who lead the project scrum process.
  • Work within a maturing Agile environment alongside specialists such as Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches to support Agile continuous improvement.
  • You can identify innovative ways to unblock issues. You can identify problems or issues in the team dynamic and rectify them.
  • You know how to lead a continual planning process in a complex environment. You can plan beyond product delivery. You can identify dependencies in plans across services and coordinate delivery.
  • You actively address the most complicated risks, issues and dependencies including where ownership exists outside the team or no clear ownership exists.
  • Excellent skills in using and planning using Microsoft Project as well as Agile related products such as Jira/Confluence, Miro and Lucid.

Desirable

  • Prior experience of working with Databricks or a similar technology.
  • Agile Accreditation such as Certified Scrum Master, SAFe, AgilePM, Prince2Agile, PMI-ACP, etc.
  • An awareness/understanding of SAFe Essentials/Large solution delivery framework.
  • Agile Software Delivery Experience.
