Air and Ocean Operations Administrator - Red Recruit Ltd : Job Details

Our freight forwarding client is looking to appoint an experienced Air & Ocean Freight Administrator, to join their team in Basildon.

On a day-to-day basis, the Air & Ocean Freight Administrator will be responsible for ensuring clients needs and expectations are met and where possible exceeded in a timely and cost effective manner.  You'll be working with the Line Manager and Directors to develop the department, maximizing the profits for both the Airfreight & Sea Freight department and the Company as a whole.

Air & Ocean Freight Administrator duties include:

• Quoting for and supervising of all relevant bookings
• Creating jobs in the company Freight Management System
• Invoicing for department in a timely manner
• Liaising with accounts department with any sales/cost queries.
• Assisting in developing of new accounts/business lanes
• Ensuring that clients satisfaction is met and exceeded wherever possible
• Working with the Line Manager and Directors to create and achieve departmental and personal budgets
• Assisting in managing key Airfreight & Sea Freight Accounts and being involved periodic meeting with the clients
• Working within and in accordance with rules governing a known agent and their relevant status

We're keen to speak to freight professionals with extensive general knowledge of all aspects of shipping, including FCL & LCL Ocean Import Freight, including end to end documentation. A&O Export knowledge would be advantageous but is not essential.

You will be liaising with a network of supplier contacts, both domestic and overseas within the Air, sea and road Cargo industry which will allow for effective and efficient purchase of services, so excellent communication skills are vital.

Please note that ALL candidates sent over MUST HAVE 5 full years employment history with no gaps to comply with security requirements.

This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday, 9am-5:30pm, with no weekends required!

In return, the successful Air & Ocean Operations Manager will be offered up to £32,000, in line with experience.
