Air, Sea Import Operations Clerk - First Choice Staff : Job Details

We are working with a Medium sized Freight Forwarder, who have an exciting opportunity for an Air / Sea Import Operations Clerk.

We are looking ideally for 2 years + experience.

Role Involves:

· Dealing with all aspects of International and Domestic freight movements.· To monitor flights and vessels arrival times and inform the customer of delays.· Sort, filter and distribute documentation and create, maintain job files in an accurate and timely manner.· Act as conduit between customers and suppliers to ensure all needs are met within the specified delivery time.· Happy to work unsupervised.· Liaise with overseas offices for shipment movements, taking responsibility for monitoring progress and keeping the customer advised of the status.· Updating customer reports ensuring accuracy before sending to customers.· Booking deliveries and arranging collections.· Completing Customs declarations in line with UK HMRC requirements including collecting Duty and VAT payments, monitoring the use of facility.· Raising of Customer invoices and making sure job in profitable.

Experience:

· Ideally 2 years Air, Sea Import experience.· Educated to GCSE (min 5)· Ability to consistently meet deadlines in a timely manner.· Ability and confidence to deal with customers daily.· Effective time management.· Knowledge of EDI (Enterprise Operating System) advantage.· IT Literate MS office, Word, Excel.· Effective organisation skills, attention to detail.

Monday to Friday 9am-5.30pm
